Wedding films with love from Scotland
Wild Call Films - wedding videographer in Edinburgh, Scotland
Welcome to our world
Hello! We’re Sylwia & Simon, and we’re the eyes behind Wild Call Films. We come from a photography background, and we bring this editorial eye for the still image working for magazines and doing art projects to our films.
We spend a lot of our time going to the movies and take a lot of our inspiration from the cinema, so we’re always keeping up with the latest films, and we use that as inspiration for our own filming.
We fell in love with the way that extra dimension in the moving image - time - brings the wedding day with all its raw emotions, fun and happiness to life.

Aerial drone footage: cinematography from above
Where the location and weather permit, love to weave a different point of view into our movies. We like to use a drone in a creative way, so that it’s not just footage of your venue from above, but that it’s real aerial cinematography.
How about vintage Super 8 film?
This is also great for an evocative look and tugging those heart strings, so it’s also something that we can offer by special request if booked in advance. We have vintage Super8 cameras that give a unique look, and we can scan the film and weave the footage into the highlights movie of the day. Film + scanning Super8 does incur a cost, but just ask us for details about what’s possible.
Short & sweet (like Simon)
Right at the heart of what we do are really tightly edited and features movies that are perfect for sharing on social media. A movie that is paced and powerful is just perfect to bring back the emotions of the day for ever after and create that buzz among family & friends.

The Million Dollar Question
Relax, it’s not actually a million dollars, but we’re guessing maybe you’re interested in how much it might cost for us to film your wedding. Get in touch below and give us a few details, and we’ll be happy to send over our latest pricing!
Did you know…
We like to personalise every aspect of our wedding films - that’s why the titles (our couple’s names) are hand drawn by Sylwia for each and every couple individually to give a personal touch.
How long will you shoot for on the day?
It depends of course on what you would like capturing and your schedule for the day, but most typically we are there from preparations through until the first few evening dances, which typically might be around 8 hours or so. For a smaller wedding for example which doesn’t have an evening ceilidh, it might be a bit shorter (and we then charge a bit less).
“We love the emotions of the feature movie, but can we also have a record of the ceremony, and what was said at speeches?”
The best way to do this is to have a separate edit that gives a full length edit of the ceremony and the speeches. That way, you can see everything that was said but it doesn’t impact the watchability of the features movie.
To do this, we have to have 2-3 cameras running during ceremony & speeches so that we can creatively move a camera without wobbles and switch between them to make an uninterrupted separate edit. That’s something we’re happy to do, but it normally requires two of us to be there.
Are you able to travel abroad?
Sure, we’re very happy to! Normally we would just pass on travel expenses at cost. And between us we speak quite a few languages: apart from English, also Polish, French, some Ukrainian, & Russian, which can help depending where we’re heading.

A wedding, activities, eagles and double decker buses at Winton Castle, East Lothian
Meg & Scott came over from Atlanta, Georgia to be married in one of our favourite Scottish grand houses - Winton Castle. The result was an amazing mix of southern charm, highland games, New Orleans pizzazz, awe-inspiring eagles - oh, and a red double decker for good measure. Have a look, and turn the sound up! Featuring talented nephew Braden on ukulele
The magic happening in our Edinburgh studio
Actually filming the wedding day is just the start of your wedding film’s journey. Our comfy studio near the waterfront in Edinburgh’s trendy Leith district with an endless supply of biscuits. Do please do come and say hello & help us out with those biscuits if you’re around!
As the wedding film comes together, we knows it was all worth it when we watch back the final edit and it makes us alternatively laugh & then get all emotional. We know if it makes us cry, then you are just going to crumble when you see it!
We are both all the time doing personal projects & having exhibitions of our work as professional artists, but we’re also travelling around a lot - both in the UK and abroad, we have a very international outlook.
If you are looking for a fast-paced movie that is fun full of emotion, that tells a story, is unique and artistic, then you came to the right place! We’re the total opposite of the grumpy videographer with a big camera and tripod filming every movement for hours on end and getting in the way. We like to blend in ninja-like, & mingle and capture little fragments of those delicious moments and details that say everything. If all of that sounds good to you, then get in touch!

P.S. - WHAT'S IN A NAME?
Why "Wild Call Films"?
In short, because we love the outdoors & especially sailing on the sea! We spent many a happy summer (not to mention the odd chilly winter) sailing around the North Sea and the Baltic in a sailing boat with sweet lines called "Wild Call". The name Wild Call comes from the poem Sea Fever by John Masefield, which is all about why we're drawn to the sea:
I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by;
And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea’s face, and a grey dawn breaking.
I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
