Are you able to travel abroad?

Of course! And between us we speak quite a few languages: apart from English, also Korean, Polish, French and Russian, which can help depending where we’re heading! Normally we would just pass on travel expenses at cost.

Will we talk before the big day?

We would always suggest meeting up to chat through the day at least once beforehand, and also to get to know one another a bit so that we can get a feel for your priorities, likes and dislikes. If meeting in person is logistically difficult then it’s always possible to meet up via Zoom instead.

How long will you shoot for on the day?

It depends of course on what you would like capturing and your schedule for the day, but most typically we are there from preparations through until the first few evening dances, which typically might be around 8 hours or so.

We love the emotions of the feature movie, but can we also have a record of the ceremony, and what was said at speeches?

We understand that some people like a more complete record of the ceremony & speeches. For that reason, we do offer capturing the ceremony & speeches as an option - just ask if this is something that is important to you.

Do you do aerial drone footage?

Sure! We have a GVC drone licence from the CAA, so we’re properly trained, licensed and insured to do this, and, where the location and weather permit, love to weave a different point of view into our movies. We like to use the drone in a creative way, so that it’s not just footage of your venue from above, but that it’s real aerial cinematography.

How about vintage Super 8 film?

This is also great for an evocative look and tugging those heart strings, so it’s also something that we can offer by special request if booked in advance. We have vintage Super8 cameras that give a unique look, and we can scan the film and weave the footage into the highlights movie of the day. Film + scanning Super8 does incur a cost, but just ask us for details about what’s possible.

Information about pricing

If you would like to know how much we charge, then please ask and we’ll send you our brochure.

Do you shoot a lot of weddings?

Yes and no. We have a lot of experience - but we really limit how many we shoot each year to make sure that we can give proper attention to each one. That’s partly because actually shooting the wedding is only a small part of the iceberg for us: the amount of time taken to edit a wedding properly is something we’re not willing to compromise on. For that reason, we only take on a strictly limited number of weddings each year.

We don’t like posing! Will that be a problem?

Not really - we don’t like footage that feels overly posed either. We’re all about capturing genuine unforced moments. We would however normally suggest taking half an hour or so to go for a portrait shoot at some point during the day. It’s not compulsory, but a wedding is a great opportunity to capture some footage of the two of you together with that wedding day happy glow around you ;) And it all looks great in the final video.

What time of day should we have our portraits? Is there a best time, light-wise?

In Scotland, there’s lot to be said for going out to take some portraits whenever the weather allows! If you don’t do it earlier in the day, then there’s always the risk the weather closes in. Having said that, if there is a chance to go out in the evening light as the sun heads towards the horizon, particularly if you’re near a big wide open landscape, then that footage can be gold!

Do we need to feed you on the day?

Normally we do need to be provided with a meal when we’re filming into the evening dancing, and our t’s & c’s do require this. The exception is if the wedding is in a city centre where we can go easily go out and find a meal nearby - provided in that case that we are not filming your wedding speeches during or after the meal. If we are filming your speeches then it is too risky for us to leave the venue as we might miss them!

How do you choose the music for the wedding film?

We really need to have discretion to choose music that in our opinion works when doing the editing. We do really want to choose music that you like, so please do tell us what your likes and dislikes are!

It normally isn’t possible to use mainstream tracks from famous artists for a wedding film because of copyright considerations - famous songs cost many thousands of dollars to license and a lot of negotiating time even for a private wedding film, and the penalties for using a track without permission are eye-watering. Apart from being illegal, we also believe in supporting emerging music artists, and we pay fees for the right to use these songs. The cost of this licensing is built into our fee, so it doesn't cost you anything extra, but we do need discretion to source songs, and we spend a lot of time looking for the right song for each film.

Do we need to provide a "shot list" to you?

There’s no need to do that: it can actually prevent us from filming effectively if we feel obliged to work our way down a whole list of requests rather than look out for the best of what’s actually happening. But if there are specific things that are important to you that we might not know about, such as a keepsake, or if it’s particularly important to you to make sure that a particular aspect of the day, or a particular person, is included in the film, then please do tell us about it!

How soon after the wedding will we receive the film?

We like to put a lot of care into preparing the wedding film, so would rather take a little longer to take care to make it really great than rush it out in a hurry. We will normally have your film ready within twelve weeks of the wedding, although at peak times of year it may take a little longer.

How do we book you?

We have an online booking system which involved ticking the options you would like in our quote, signing the t’s & c’s by typing your name in online, and paying the deposit. Once that is all complete, we will secure the date in our diaries for you. Please note that, until the contract is signed and deposit paid, that we can’t hold dates provisionally, to be fair to all enquiries we have to allocate dates on a first-come-first-served basis.
